John F. Mizner, Esq.

Attorney John F. Mizner is widely regarded as one of the most courageous and passionate litigators in northwestern Pennsylvania. Attorney Mizner has focused his practice on business litigation since he began his career in 1988, and has continued to search for innovative ways to advocate for his clients and obtain the best possible outcomes.

Attorney Mizner also has an extensive background in politics. He served as the chairman of the Erie County Republican Party for 12 years and worked on a number of major campaigns during that time, including the successful campaigns of former Governor Tom Ridge and former Senator Rick Santorum. Through these experiences, Attorney Mizner developed a unique take on the art of persuasion and a mastery of the out-of-court advocacy techniques that help to win cases.

Attorney Mizner has also been a Commissioner of Pennsylvania’s Independent Regulatory Review Commission since 1995 and Chairman since 2014. The Independent Regulatory Review Commission is charged with examining proposed regulations from virtually every Pennsylvania state agency before they take effect with the purpose of fostering executive branch accountability and allowing for analysis of the impact of proposed regulations on the industries or individuals they regulate and the public at large. Attorney Mizner’s service as a Commissioner has given him a deep understanding of administrative law that enhances his ability to assist his clients when they deal with government agencies.

Attorney Mizner practices in many different areas of law, focusing particularly on civil litigation, business disputes and agreements, civil rights violations, serious injuries and deaths, appellate advocacy, and medical malpractice.
